Public Drop Off (PDO) Area

The Leduc and District Regional Waste Management Facility offers a Public Drop Off (PDO) area for residential use. The PDO provides safer vehicle access and reduced wait times for residents.

Upon arriving at the main entrance, residents can turn left (south) to access the PDO area. Users will weigh in at the scale house and proceed up the ramp onto the elevated loop, where all material bins are located. Signage is in place to help direct users on site.

The Public Drop Off area features:

  • A paved entry and exit route;
  • A professionally designated area for household waste, recyclables and organics; and
  • A cleaner, easier and faster experience for users.

The following items are accepted:

  • Residential and commercial waste
  • General organics and yard waste
  • Clean wood
  • Blue bag recyclables
  • Household hazardous waste (HHW)
  • Used oil and oil filters
  • Electronic waste (E-waste)
  • Scrap metal and white goods
  • Propane tanks
  • Tires
  • Household Donations - Through partnership with Goodwill Industries of Alberta

Residents are encouraged to pre-sort their waste before arriving, to help facilitate a smooth drop-off.

The Facility provides service to residents of member municipalities. Member municipalities include the City of Leduc, Leduc County, City of Beaumont, Town of Devon and the Town of Calmar.

Residents who are unable to provide a Resident Identification Card at the scale house will be subject to the standard facility user fees.
