New Resident Identification Card System is in Effect!


The member municipalities of the Leduc and District Waste Management Facility  have implemented a Resident Identification Card system at the Leduc and District Regional Waste Management Facility. By implementing the Resident Identification Card system, the member municipalities of the Leduc and District Regional Waste Management Facility anticipate a reduction of abuse by non-residents of the member municipalities and hope to allow their residents continued use of the landfill for household waste without implementing facility usage fees. The member municipalities include the City of Leduc, County of Leduc, the Town Of Beaumont, the Town of Devon and the Town of Calmar.

If you are a resident of these member municipalities, you will be able to use the facility to dispose of 1 tonne (1000 kg) of household waste per year without being personally charged at the scale house upon exiting the facility provided you are able to produce a Leduc and District Waste Management Facility Resident Identification Card. If you are a resident of the County of Leduc, you do not have a yearly waste limit.

If you are a resident and wish to sign up for a Resident Card, you can so in two ways - going online and filling out the application. The online application can take up to two weeks to process and receive your card by mail. The other option is to go to our Scale House and fill out the application with a 24 hour activation period.

Please Note: Residents who cannot product a Resident Identification Card upon entering the landfill after September 1, 2013, will be subject to the standard facility usage fees. Your cooperation in this program is greatly appreciated. If you have questions or concerns, please call 780-420-1507.
